Intensive Outpatient Chemical Dependency & Enhanced Dual Diagnosis Treatment Programs

Who We Are:
Nystrom & Associates, Ltd. Chemical Dependency and Enhanced Dual Diagnosis Treatment Programs are licensed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services under Rule 31 and are supported by our Rule 29 mental health multidisciplinary staff. We treat dual diagnosis and chemical dependency with an integrated approach.

Our Intensive Outpatient Chemical Dependency and Enhanced Dual Diagnosis Programs are designed for individuals experiencing negative consequences at work, with family, or with the legal system from their alcohol or drug use.  Additionally, people may suffer from specific emotional problems such as depression, anxiety, mood disorders, personality disorders, or other serious and persistent mental illnesses.  We understand the relationship between substance abuse/addiction and emotional problems or mental illness, and integrate treatment in order to address both issues. Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselors, Mental Health Professionals, and Mental Health Practitioners work as a team to help our clients work through complex problems and develop a strong recovery plan. 

What We Do:
A Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselor conducts an evaluation to determine the level of chemical involvement. This evaluation process includes routine screening for co-occurring conditions, allowing for early identification of potential mental health/emotional problems. If a client enrolls in our program as a result of an evaluation, the client will complete a comprehensive assessment to determine the specific nature of the mental health and/or substance abuse/addiction problem to begin a treatment plan and course of care.  Our programs serve a wide spectrum of dual problems for persons experiencing high to low severity problems.  We provide group, individual, and family counseling with a variety of intensity levels.

Core programming is based on Motivational Interviewing and Stage Wise Treatment strategies designed to partner with the client and reduce resistance.  We provide individualized treatment planning with educational and skills based approaches.

This program offers high, medium, and low intensity treatment.  We utilize an evidenced based curriculum noted for its easy-to-use and interactive format that helps move clients through the stages of change.  Other components include psycho-education, skills training, family program, and a strong collaborative relationship with our ARMHS and PFBD programs to assist our clients when outreach is necessary. Program participants have ready access to a number of other in-house services to enhance their treatment plan, and encourage continuity of care including: psychological testing, mental health therapy, psychiatry, family therapy, dialectical behavior therapy and nutrition services.

Payment for Services:
Our Licensed Rule 31 programs are covered by most commercial health plans and HMO’s. We also accept CCDTF (Rule 25) funding for those applicants who have qualified through their county social service agency. If you do not have private health insurance and think you may qualify for CCDTF funding, call your county social service agency or check their website for chemical health service contact information.
