Interests:
As a clinical psychologist, I provide individual therapy for a variety of issues, including depression & anxiety, personality disorders, addiction recovery, existential and spiritual/religious concerns, relationship difficulties, and sexual concerns. I specialize in helping people with compulsive or unmanageable sexual behaviors. My style is an integrative mix of psychodynamic, cognitive, and experiential therapeutic approaches. My clients describe me as nonjudgmental, compassionate, understanding, and validating. My ultimate goal is to help individuals feel both understood and validated, to restore a sense of hope in the future and a sense of personal optimism, no matter how desperate a person may feel in the immediate moment.
Hobbies:
I enjoy spending time with my family, eating good food (especially Southern food), watching M. Night Shyamalan movies, fishing and spending time Up North in the summer. I like all kinds of music, and read mostly non-fiction self-help or spirituality books (when I can find the time). I try to stay acquainted with the latest psychology research but I can’t keep up! I aspire to someday take up Bonsai as a hobby, but haven’t started yet! Life is a work in progress…
