More About Brooke Gardiner-Smith
Clinical Interests:
I am interested in working with clients who are seeking counseling due to a variety of reasons, including depression, anxiety, peripartum mental health concerns, and relationship and/or interpersonal concerns. I also believe the identities one holds (such as BIPOC, LGBTQ+, etc) is integral to how they interact with the world and how the world interacts with them.
Clinical Approach:
I am a person-centered therapist and believe each client is the expert on their own experiences and has the autonomy and free will to make their own decisions. I believe my role in therapy is to help each client find their own potential for growth. I also have a tendency to use existential therapy to explore topics in more depth, as well as utilizing aspects from interpersonal process therapy when discussing relationships.
Hobbies:
I enjoy spending time with my family and two cats, Honey and Elphaba. I also enjoy reading in my free time and drinking lots of coffee.
