More About Christian Wise
Clinical Interests:
Clinically, I am interested in working with a majority of populations. I would primarily prefer to focus on helping people struggling with suicide, anxiety, depression, life development issues (i.e. school/career/transitions) and self image. I did my internship as a DBT Intern so I am familiar and comfortable teaching DBT skills as well with my clients. I am open and grateful to learn about even more clinical options to help the people I get to interact with.
Clinical Approach:
Clinically, I believe it is important to first understand and build rapport with a client. Understanding a persons story and daily mindset is an important facet of therapy. As fa as technicality, I focus on using both Client-Centered techniques and Solution Oriented Techniques. Motivational Interviewing and DBT skills make up some of my clinical approach, and I look forward to adding more techniques from different theories as I get to grow clinically.
Hobbies:
Personally, I enjoy reading philosophy books (or talking about philosophy in general), playing video games, watching sports, working out, being in nature and taking long, slow walks!
