More About Clare Henke
Clinical Interests:
I work with individuals who are 16 years old and older who have experienced trauma, particularly as it intersects with systems of oppression, power, and identity. I focus on supporting clients navigating complex experiences such as interpersonal violence, chronic stress, and the loss of self-identity. My interests also include narrative and somatic approaches that build coping strategies and deepen clients’ connection to themselves. I’m passionate about fostering empowerment, autonomy, and a safe environment where individuals feel secure enough to explore and flourish.
Clinical Approach:
My clinical approach is rooted in feminist-liberation theory, with a foundation in relational-cultural theory and trauma-informed care. I believe healing begins by honoring each client’s autonomy and context while fostering a collaborative, safe therapeutic relationship. My approach is non-pathologizing and centers expanding clients’ capacity for self-awareness, accountability, and value-based living, recognizing that readiness and safety to process trauma vary individually. I adapt interventions to meet each client where they are, aiming to empower them with a fuller sense of self and sustainable coping strategies.
Hobbies:
I enjoy spending time with my dog, grabbing a delicious bite of food, and discovering new thrift and antique finds.
