More About Dan Chute
Clinical Interests:
Finding a therapist that you feel comfortable with, and trust can be difficult. Life experiences, past trauma and current situations can cause you to feel stuck, falling into destructive patterns, depressed, or anxious habits. You may have noticed changes in your relationships, work, mood, self-esteem or may just feel that you haven’t been yourself.
I offer a passionate, directive, and non-judgmental environment. I jump right in and compassionately listen, encourage, support, challenge and empower you to make changes. I'm a directive therapist and will waste little time in trying to figure out how to help you achieve your goals. I will guide you through feedback or suggestions in making informed decisions about how to deal with issues that we identify together. I believe that you deserve to feel respected, supported and understood.
I work primarily with individuals ages 14+. Areas of particular interest are career changes, men's issues, ADHD, relationship issues, trauma, depression and anxiety, college students and premarital counseling.
Clinical Approach:
I utilize a variety of modalities that are mainly solution focused, CBT, strength based and mindfulness oriented types of therapy. I do have training in other areas that sometimes are appropriate to integrate as well based on you.
