More About Daniel Watts

Clinical Interests:

Primarily, I have worked with adults who have endured childhood trauma. I work with both individuals and relationships in their varied forms. I have knowledge and/or experience working with posttraumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, grief, loss, life transitions, sexual orientation, sexual identity, intimacy, connection, as well as substance use concerns.

Clinical Approach:

I provide adult and relationship therapy with a focus on reducing the effects of trauma, depression, anxiety, and multiple attachment styles. I work with individuals, couples, throuples, and polyams in order to heal, heighten a healthy sense of self, with a sex-positive lens to improve intimacy in its many forms. I also collaborate with those who are struggling in various stages of life: sexuality, coming out, gender-curiosity, transition, strained relationships, or loss of an endeared pet, person, or of a dream. Together, we will explore how to tap into your potential, to create your distinct identity, and to embrace more fulfilling connection with others. I respect and honor the space where you may hold confusion, anger, intrusive memories, sadness, disappointments. Through trust, guided mindfulness, somatic experiencing, Polyvagal Thoery, and humor, we’ll forge a path that feels right for you. I will help you calm the body, access the sources of conflict within, and make choices aligned with your core. Everyone struggles, and we do not have to do it alone. This is not old world therapy, and it isn’t ‘the expert fixing the broken.’ I am here to join you, to explore, and to discover together the solutions and healing capacity you already have.

Hobbies:

I enjoy creative writing, cultivating my vegetable garden in the Summer, a cozy fire in the Winter, and cooking. I like catching up with friends and family over coffee, dinner, walking around a lake, or on a wooded path. You might even catch me belting out my favorite 80’s tune, dancing in my kitchen, reading 15th and 16th century French and English history, or playing tennis!
