More About David Schnurrer
Clinical Interests:
I enjoy working with a wide variety of backgrounds, however, my area of interest is working with young adults experiencing substance use difficulties. I have a long history of working with adolescents in both residential and outpatient settings but have recently made the change of working with adults in different services prior to substance use counseling.
Clinical Approach:
My approach is meeting with clients where they are and working on things at their speed. Using a person centered approach to develop treatment goals and objectives to address a person’s needs. I primarily utilize 12 Step work, DBT Skills, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Skills, and look at the day to day struggles and stresses that may create barriers to those goals and progress.
Hobbies:
I am an active person and do several half-marathons throughout the year in addition to doing inline marathons (roller-blading). I am very into sports and follow most Minnesota sports teams.
