More About David Scott
Clinical Interests:
The populations that I work best with are adolescents and young adults. Substance abuse, trauma, anxiety, depression, and simply figuring out life are areas that I feel like I'm best in. I've been a dually licensed clinician since 2010 and know how difficult managing mental illness and substance abuse really are. If the above doesn't sound like you, don't fret! I'm open to folks with all types of stories and backgrounds!
Clinical Approach:
I am a solution-focused clinician at heart. When folks come to therapy, they have a reason. My job is to help them identify, practice, and execute the necessary steps needed in order to make the change they're looking to make. I'm trained in CBT, TF-CBT, EMDR, and narrative therapies. These techniques are effective and I see results when we apply the skills together.
The client is always in the driver's seat and I am always in the navigator's position. You get to pick where we go and I'll do my best to help you get there as safely as possible.
Hobbies:
I am a die-hard college basketball fan and love to watch the Tar Heels play. I love being outside and hiking trails. I'm always up for a new place to explore! I also enjoy reading, music, movies, and spending time with my family.
