More About Heidi Bishop

Clinical Interests:

I have worked primarily with adults struggling with mental health and addiction in the community and prison setting. I enjoy working with adults who are investing in themselves to be a better person. I’m interesting in working with individuals with mood and anxiety disorders, addictions, life transitions/struggles, and trauma survivors.

Clinical Approach:

I try to create a safe place for you in my office because change doesn’t happen without safety. I’m there for you, to learn about you and help you move towards your goals. Pursing counseling can be intimidating and I applaud you for taking the first step. Together using a holistic strength based approach, we can talk through where you are now and where you want to go. I will meet you where you are and walk every step with you. While in counseling, I use Psychoeducation, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and others as needed. Counseling is about you and for you and so am I.

Hobbies:

I enjoy spending my free time with family and friends. Being outside on a beautiful day in a kayak or horseback riding is life giving to me. My husband and I love to try new food, listen to live Jazz music, attend church, and travel. We love to give our kids new experiences and invest in those around us.
