More About Jane Sells

Clinical Interests:

I have 10 years of experience working in residential care for individuals with severe and persistent mental illnesses. I also have experience as a Mental Health Case Manager. Throughout my career, I have developed a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by this population, as well as a passion for helping those I work with to achieve their full potential. I have extensive experience working with individuals who have a variety of mental health needs, and a strong interest in working with individuals in the LGBTQIA+ population. I believe that everyone deserves access to compassionate and affirming care, regardless of their gender identity, sexual orientation, or other aspects of their identity. I also have a strong interest in working with those who struggle with depression, relationship challenges, life stressors, anxiety disorders, trauma and PTSD. I work with adults who are 18+.

Clinical Approach:

Overall I am deeply committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals with a variety of mental health challenges. I take a person-centered and holistic approach, recognizing that each individual has unique needs, strengths, and challenges. I believe that therapy should be a collaborative process, and I work closely with my clients to develop treatment plans that are tailored to their specific goals and preferences. My clinical approach is influenced by several different models, including narrative therapy, existential thought, feminist therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). I believe in empowering clients to explore their identities, values, and beliefs, and I strive to create a safe and affirming space for individuals of all backgrounds and identities.

Hobbies:

In my free time I enjoy going for a run, biking, reading, listening to podcasts, spending time with loved ones, crafting/making jewelry, visiting art museums/festivals, and traveling to warm climates.
