More About Janie Yang
Clinical Interests:
I am open to working with both children/adolescents and adults, but would like to focus on children/adolescent population.
Although I am do not currently have a certificate specializing in particular modality of practice, in the upcoming year, I do plan to become certified in either: play therapy, TF-CBT, or ACT. Preferably, I would continue to expand to other modalities as well, in the years to come and as practices/cultures change in the world around us.
Clinical Approach:
As a clinician, I take trauma-informed care very seriously. With any individual or family system I work with, I keep in mind the practices that are needed to reduce the amount of harm that could come from talking about sensitive topics.
Although I have yet to be officially DBT-certified, I use a lot of the approaches and teachings from DBT when working in a clinical setting.
Hobbies:
In my spare time, I enjoy doing arts and crafts. I love putting together gifts for very important people in my life. I am quite the planner, so I also actually spend quite a bit of time putting thought into events for the rest of the year, including vacations and outings for (and with!) my family. I love reading books as well!
