More About Jeanette Foizie
Clinical Interests:
My clinical interest is in outpatient therapy with adults. I have experience working with adults from a variety of backgrounds including people in recovery, people with chronic medical conditions, and people who have served in our military and/or as first responders. As a therapist I have worked with clients who have various mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety and mood disorders, substance abuse, posttraumatic stress disorder, trauma, medical comorbidities, significant life transitions, grief/loss.
Clinical Approach:
I believe every person is unique and tailor the therapy approach to meet their needs. I have experience working in multiple settings including inpatient behavioral health, outpatient medical clinics, hospice and outpatient therapy. I utilize a variety of therapy modalities based on the individual needs of a client including solution focused therapy, narrative therapy, CBT, DBT skills, mindfulness, motivational interviewing and positive psychology. I tend to work from a strengths-based perspective. I believe therapy is a collaborative venture and prefer clients are active participants in the process. I strive to offer a safe, open environment for clients to share about current and past events.
Hobbies:
I enjoy spending time with my family, including our 2 dogs. In my free time you will find me visiting with friends, traveling, gardening, cooking, canning or reading. My dogs hold a special place in my heart, and I am currently training a golden retriever puppy for animal assisted therapy.
