Clinical Approach:
A majority of my clinical experience has been under the cognitive behavioral approach which indicates a relationship between our thoughts, beliefs and feelings and the behaviors that result from those thought patterns. Because of this background, I focus on identifying distorted thought patterns and replacing those distortions with reality-based statements. Essentially, changing the way we think will change the way we behave. I believe that the client is the author of their own story, and that the job of the therapist is to assist the client through through their journey, rather than be a "fixer". I strive to practice cultural sensitivity in my practice always.
