More About Jordan Anderson

Clinical Interests:

I am a dedicated mental health professional specializing in supporting individuals with substance use disorders (SUD) and co-occurring disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, personality disorders, and severe and persistent mental illness across the lifespan. With a commitment to comprehensive care, I also offer psychological testing services tailored to the unique needs of each individual.

Clinical Approach:

My clinical approach is grounded in existentialism and humanistic psychology, emphasizing the importance of creating a safe, trusting environment where clients can explore their own experiences and perspectives. I believe that clients are the experts on their own journeys and strive to empower them in the therapeutic process. This philosophy underpins my practice, allowing for a personalized and client-centered approach to therapy. In addition to my existential and humanistic foundation, I integrate a variety of therapeutic modalities to address the diverse needs of my clients. These include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for addressing specific thought patterns and behaviors, as well as mindfulness techniques to foster greater self-awareness and emotional regulation. My goal is to provide a holistic and adaptive approach to therapy that supports each individual’s path to healing and growth.

Hobbies:

When I’m not exploring the outdoors through hiking, camping and kayaking, I enjoy delving into books, cooking, honing my skills in woodworking, and cherishing moments with my beloved family of rescue animals. My household is a lively one, filled with the companionship of my cats—Annie, Zeke, Kasha, and Connie—my parrots—Jasper and Sonnie—my Argentinian tegu, Teggy, and my border collie, Kiko. I also enjoy searching out local community events in the Twin Cities area.
