More About Katie Gillespie-Jensen
Katie currently is working with individuals (10+), couples, and families. She has experience providing therapy for clients of a wide range of ages and clinical presentations. Katie especially enjoys working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, relational concerns, life transitions, grief/ loss, and infertility. Katie helps couples improve respect and communication, and parents to improve relationships with their children while strengthening their parenting. Katie has training in Christian counseling and can offer integrated therapy for interested clients.
Katie operates from a person-centered approach, based on her belief that the foundation of meaningful therapy is a genuine relationship between the client and therapist. Katie operates from a trauma informed perspective and will support clients in exploring the impact of their earlier experiences on their current functioning. Katie works to assist clients in developing deeper self-understanding. Katie supports clients in identifying their values and making meaningful and intentional choices.
Katie uses some aspects of ACT, CBT, and frequently teaches clients mindfulness skills. When working with families Katie has a passion for helping caregivers better understand the emotional and developmental needs of their children and for increasing family communication.
Katie enjoys spending time with her family, including participating in community activities and outdoor fun. Katie enjoys reading books and connecting with friends.
