More About Kelsey Finnvik

Clinical Interests:

I am passionate about supporting individuals through periods of transition, personal growth, and emotional healing. My clinical interests include working with clients who experience anxiety, depression, trauma, and other disorders. I am particularly interested in integrating evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness practices to help clients build resilience, improve coping skills, and foster a deeper sense of self-awareness. I also have a strong interest in supporting clients with relationship issues, identity exploration, and life adjustment challenges. I am committed to creating a safe, empathetic space for clients to explore their thoughts and emotions while empowering them to make meaningful changes in their lives.

Clinical Approach:

I approach therapy from a person-centered perspective, which is rooted in the belief that every individual has the inherent capacity for growth and self-healing. I prioritize creating a warm, nonjudgmental, and empathetic space where clients feel fully heard and understood. By fostering a strong therapeutic alliance based on trust and respect, I encourage clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences at their own pace. I believe that when clients feel supported and accepted, they are better able to gain insight, navigate challenges, and make positive changes in their lives. My approach emphasizes collaboration, active listening, and unconditional positive regard, empowering clients to discover their solutions and strengths while building self-esteem and self-compassion.

My personal motto is “more self-love” and anything can be accomplished as we learn to love our whole selves as we move through healing and growth.

Hobbies:

I enjoy spending time going on adventures with my son whether that is traveling, random day adventures, or just watching a movie. I enjoy reading books whether they help with my profession or to slip away into another world. I enjoy hanging out with family and friends. Currently a cat mom of two and a lizard mom of one.
