More About Kendra Coop
Clinical Interests:
I work with children, their parents, adolescents and young adults who are working through a wide variety of mental health issues such as: behavioral disorders, mood disorders, anxiety, depression, oppositional defiant disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, disruptive mood disorder, trauma, grief and loss, behavioral issues, attention deficit/hyperactive disorder, dysregulation disorder, self esteem issues. I have experience working with individuals in residential treatment and psychiatric facilities.
Clinical Approach:
I hope to meet the person where they are and allow them to share their story. I provide a safe place to share, grow and heal. I work with the client to define the issue/issues that brought them into treatment, together we explore the problem and work on developing skills to address and improve on these areas. I look for strengths within each individual and build on those to promote positive growth. I use a strength based approach and interventions to develop coping skills. I use motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy, trauma informed care and natural consequences as a practice.
Hobbies:
I love spending time with family and friends. I enjoy traveling but also enjoy spending time at home. Taking walks when the weather is nice is another favorite. I love combining walking and shopping.
