More About Kimberly Williams

Clinical Interests:

I have an interest in working with ages 8+ and I enjoy collaborating with clients about a number of presenting concerns. I have a particularly strong passion for working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and those navigating other aspects of their identity, those who have experienced trauma, and people with behavioral concerns and issues related to anger.

Clinical Approach:

Throughout psychotherapy, I believe it is essential to combine a person-centered and collaborative approach to treatment. Put simply, I approach therapy through the belief that each and every person is worthy of care and respect and that treatment is most effective when it is tailored to the individual by working together to identify their needs, wants, and goals for the future and collaborating on a plan to get there. In addition, it is important that treatment balances the need for new skills to manage distress, as well as the exploration of past events that may be contributing to the presenting concerns.

Hobbies:

In my free time I enjoy reading, and in particular reading fiction and thrillers. I love to spend time with my family, check out local walking trails, try new craft projects, and explore parts of Minneapolis I haven't had the chance to yet.

I've got two cats who are very sweet, and I'd really like to hear about your pets too!
