Outpatient Mental Health Professional
More About Loren Niehoff
My clinical interests are trauma and substance abuse. For the past five years, I have worked predominately with Veterans. In working with the Veterans, I have been exposed to a variety of underlying mental health issues, such as physical impairments and traumatic brain injuries. I also assist clients with working through depressive and anxiety issues. Being a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I enjoy working with families and couples who are struggling with family dynamics and communication.
My clinical approach is eclectic drawing from a variety of therapeutic methods. I am person centered believing in the autonomy of every person to live their life to the fullest. Life can be difficult at times and at times we need assistance navigating life's trials. Having said that, I rely heavily on a cognitive approach believing if we change the way we think, we can change the way we feel and act. I am a trauma informed therapist which also leans towards a cognitive approach.
I enjoy playing cards with friends and family, especially my grandchildren. Having grew up on a farm, I love being outside whether I am biking, walking, fishing or gardening.
