More About Mai-Linh Pham
Clinical Interests:
I have experience working with underprivileged adults and families as a Targeted Mental Health Case Manager, Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services Worker (ARMHS), and in-home/outpatient psychotherapist. Furthermore, I am also experienced in working with clients with Serious Persistent Mental Illnesses (SPMI). My top priority is focusing on person-centered approaches meeting the client where they are at. My clinical interests are Major Depression, Bipolar, Anxiety, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, stress-related concerns, and life transitions. I provide active listening and use empowerment models to guide my clients in achieving their mental health goals. I believe that as a first-generation Asian American, it is imperative to advocate for mental health to help normalize the importance of people expressing their needs without being judged. Having been through this process myself, I know that it can be challenging, and I hope to be able to assist them in facing obstacles as they work to overcome them.
Clinical Approach:
Whenever possible, I make sure to create an environment that is safe, comfortable, and conducive to my clients opening up about any concerns they may have. Engaging with my clients is one of my favorite things to do, and I often focus on their strengths and resilience when advising them. Additionally, I am energetic, non-judgmental, and use positive approaches in my work. Among the areas of expertise that I specialize in are motivational interviewing, a strengths-based approach, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), coaching, and collaborative care.
Hobbies:
My favorite thing to do is spend time with my family and friends. As a dedicated wife and mother, I enjoy every moment I can spend with my two boys and I’m grateful for them. Being raised in a Vietnamese family, I have acquired a love for cooking Vietnamese and other delicious Asian dishes. Also, in my leisure time, I enjoy watching television shows such as hospital dramas and crime/mystery shows and eating delicious desserts.
