More About Marketa Claiborn
Clinical Interests:
Though my previous clinical experience has been working primarily with adult individuals, delivering comprehensive mental health care across all stages of life encompasses my clinical interests. Though the topic of mental health has been taboo for many generations and cultures, as a person and clinician of color, it is my responsibility to promote culturally competent mental health care and well-being. My commitment lies in ongoing self-awareness, resilience, and empowerment that will promote overall well-being.
Clinical Approach:
When it comes to my clinical approach, I count it as an honor to be invited to collaborate with clients as they navigate through challenging times. My commitment to create and provide safe, judgment-free spaces where clients can feel heard, supported, valued, and empowered is my top priority. Therefore, my clinical approach encompasses a range of core values and qualities, which include empathy, compassion, cultural humility, and respect for all. In addition, my therapeutic approaches include using a person-centered, strengths-based approach that may include CBT and OARS techniques to promote client resiliency and empowerment as we journey through the therapeutic world together.
Hobbies:
Though I love spending time with and talking to family and loved ones, I value my self-care time. I enjoy moments to relax, reflect, and unwind through daily prayer, Bible devotions, bubble baths, and relaxing gospel music / inspirational messages. In addition, I enjoy trying new recipes and watching Lifetime / LMN movies. I plan to travel more and celebrate life as much as possible.
