More About Megan Johnson
Clinical Interests:
My clinical interests include working with children and families, ages birth to 10 years that have experienced trauma, foster placement, parental separation, and improving parenting skills through teaching supportive and responsive parenting strategies.
My clinical interests also include working with individuals aged 14+, experiencing impairments in independent living, social relationships, and in the vocational setting due to acquired disability, medical issues, traumatic brain injury, and autism spectrum disorder.
Clinical Approach:
I incorporate trauma-informed, cognitive behavioral, and solution-focused interventions as well as mindfulness, behavioral, and positive parenting strategies within my clinical approach. I am a believer in making therapy a comfortable space to honor and challenge one’s thoughts and emotions while acknowledging things both in and out of our personal control.
Hobbies:
I enjoy traveling, trying new things, cooking, crafting, sunny days on the lake, a good cup of coffee, and naps.
