Clinical Interests:
From a population standpoint, I have experience with general/adult psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, Veteran mental health, LGBTQ+ mental health, minority, immigrant and refugee mental health, and community mental health.
Particular areas of practice interest and experience include mood, anxiety and depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and other psychotic illnesses, substance abuse and dependence, personality disorders, attention and focus concerns, and aging and memory disorders.
Clinical Approach:
The best work I can do as a doctor comes from understanding you as someone seeking help. Our brains are our most powerful and complicated organ. Putting a name to what someone is experiencing, like “anxiety” or “depression”, might help us to better understand a constellation of symptoms, but it’s only the first step in finding an effective treatment. The ways in which our mental health impacts our lives and relationships is as varied as we are as individuals; the “right” treatment is often different from one person to the next as well, and can evolve over time. I look forward to creating not just an effective treatment plan together, but building a mutual and effective partnership moving forward.
Hobbies:
In my spare time, I enjoy carpentry, gardening, gaming (mostly PC) and wrestling with my kids.
