Personal Information:

Clinical Approach:
I utilize a client centered approach to guide and walk with my clients on their journey to self-discovery, self-acceptance and improved functioning. I believe that my clients benefit from a supportive, non-judgmental environment to facilitate their inner strengths and resources. I also utilize expressive art techniques with clients of any age, including music, arts/crafts, writing/poetry, storytelling, and sand tray to foster growth and healing.

Clinical Interests:
I am a registered play therapist, I use play therapy and creative techniques with children up to age 11. Children often have difficulty verbalizing what they are thinking and feeling with the adults around them. Play and other creative materials allow children to communicate in session using a medium that they enjoy and understand. I use a combination of non-directive play therapy and directive techniques to communicate with children in the symbolic world they create with their play. I have completed training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy. EMDR therapy was originally developed to treat trauma and PTSD. EMDR has been found to effectively treat other mood and anxiety disorders, including depression, phobias, and panic disorder. EMDR can be effectively used for anxiety and depression which has been resistant to other types of treatment. EMDR targets past and present memories and distressing thoughts to resolve symptoms that hinder daily functioning.

Personal Interests:
I enjoy reading, puzzles and doing various arts and craft projects. I like spending time with family and friends playing games and going to the park, museums and the zoo.

Behavioral Health Certifications:
