More About Tracy Grochow

Clinical Interests:

As a clinical mental health counselor pursuing licensure, I desire to work with individuals, couples, and families facing a variety of diverse challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, body-mind connections, life transitions, ADHD, autism, postpartum health, parenting, and relational issues. Primarily, I have worked with single adults, but I am interested in working with families, youth, and couples as well. I strive to be an advocate for clients, equipping them with the skills, tools, and resources needed for their personal growth and well-being. I have experience working with clients individually or within groups who are in crisis or are struggling with certain aspects their mental health and well-being. I will see clients who may have a range of concerns, and who may or may not have a formal diagnosis. I consider it an honor to partner with clients as they navigate their unique healing journeys and I intend to provide compassionate support, standing alongside clients with encouragement and nonjudgmental guidance every step of the way.

Clinical Approach:

What we sow into others creates lasting impacts and ripple effects. Navigating life’s journey requires courage, bravery, and balance and seeking help is a powerful step toward wellness. Recognizing that counseling involves vulnerability and can be intimidating, I prioritize creating a safe, collaborative, and confidential space where clients can be their most authentic self and comfortably share, heal, and grow. I enjoy collaborating with you and/or your family from a strengths-based, and person-centered approach, recognizing you as the expert of your own journey and story. Life’s struggles or challenges are not meant to be walked through alone, and I am committed to supporting individuals, couples, and families as they navigate their unique paths toward healing and growth. Together, we’ll use skills and techniques that will enhance self-awareness, promote emotional regulation, mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, healing, wellbeing, and resilience. Throughout the counseling journey, I seek to cultivate a positive and resilient self-image in my clients as well, empowering them to pursue a more fulfilling and balanced life worth living. I embrace a holistic approach to counseling, acknowledging the interconnectedness of mental, physical, relational, and spiritual well-being. The therapeutic approaches I like to use are psychoeducation, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, meditation, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Attachment Theory, Polyvagal Theory and others as appropriate, each tailored to client’s specific challenges and aspirations. I also have a passion for group therapy, which fosters connection and collective growth through shared experiences and insights.

Hobbies:

My hobbies include reading, photography, traveling, and spending quality time with friends and family. I am a lover of all things “nature” including national parks, waterfalls, hiking, and camping. I also have a passion for history and learning and you can find me either on a walk or a hike listening to a good audio book or a favorite podcast.
