My clinical interests include: trauma, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, guilt/shame, adjustment disorders, substance use, relationship conflicts, codependency, and anger issues.
I believe in meeting my clients where they are at and adapting myself to meet their needs and readiness for change and growth. I see each individual as the experts of themselves. Therefore, my aim is to help improve the lives of my clients by helping them achieve their identified goals while honoring their autonomy and personal values.
I assist clients using a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach, by helping to change the patterns of thinking or behavior that are behind their difficulties and thus changing how they feel. I also employ other evidence-based modalities such as motivational interviewing to explore and resolve ambivalence, and utilize tenets of person-centered therapy, including empathic understanding and nonjudgmental acceptance. Additionally, I am a certified Prolonged Exposure Therapist for the treatment of PTSD.
In my free time, I enjoy playing guitar, painting, hiking, and just being outdoors!
