Clinical Interests:

My areas of clinical interest include working with children, adults and families around the areas of trauma, anxiety, positive parent support and strategies, foster care/adoption, blended families, and domestic violence, I am working towards becoming a registered play therapist.

Clinical Approach:

I work with children and families from a relational perspective. I believe that children and caregivers alike thrive when their relationships with one another feel safe, secure, and meaningful. I use play therapy and family therapy techniques to help caregivers learn how to play and "be with" their children in a way that the child feels seen, understood, and loved. It is also important for caregivers to feel supported, strong, and balanced and I focus on supporting caregivers to learn and use positive parenting strategies, co-regulation and prioritize their own self-care.

I utilize techniques from both non-directive and directive play therapy to engage children and their families. It is important to me to work with a trauma informed lens and to share this perspective with others to ensure that the struggles, needs and stories of others are shared and understood in a safe and respectful manner. I believe we all need unconditional support and safety to be well and I hope to offer this to my clients.

Hobbies:

I enjoy spending time with my family, walking and hiking, and exploring new restaurants.
