Outpatient Mental Health Professional
I work with a wide range of clients including families, couples, individuals, adults, and adolescents. I have a special interest in working with individuals and couples in the LGBTQ+ community; I find it beneficial to process societal influences that can make being an "out" person very difficult and scary, and develop strategies to increase confidence and security in one's identity. I also have special interest in working with college students and working through the existential issues that can arise while one transitions into adulthood.
I draw from many theoretical orientations and therapy styles, and try to cater my approach to each client based on their specific needs and goals for therapy. The therapies I gravitate toward the most include Internal Family Systems, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
I have been an animal-lover my entire life! I love spending time hiking and playing with my dog, ZIggy, who is a rescue (#adoptdontshop). I am also a butterfly farmer—I harvest monarch butterfly eggs in the early summer and raise the caterpillars into adulthood, then tag and release the adults in the fall so they can migrate to Mexico. I am passionate about helping the planet in any way that I can, and I find butterfly farming to be one small and powerful way to have a positive impact.
