More About Lukas Eisen

Clinical Interests:

I work with families and individuals of all ages experiencing a variety of mental health concerns, including anxiety and depression, relationship difficulties, spiritual issues, behavioral problems in children, parenting, stress management, life adjustments and others. Special areas of interest and competence include Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Play Therapy (PT) and couples preparing for marriage.

Clinical Approach:

Depending on my client and presenting concern I draw from a variety of approaches. Through my graduate training in Marriage and Family Therapy I view all individuals, couples and families through a systemic lens, looking at the broader systems and relationships they are part of and affected by, including their family of origin. I have a warm and validating approach, trying to help clients develop their own solutions to life's challenges and develop greater resiliency and strength. I also draw from Cognitive Behavioral Approaches, including DBT, to equip clients with the tools and skills they need to succeed in their daily living and relationships. For my work with children I am passionate about Child-Centered Play Therapy: I believe that toys are to kids what words are to adults to help them work through their current struggles, while being a consultant to the parents to help them develop strong relationships and families.

Hobbies:

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my wife and two young daughters, being in the outdoors and staying active. I am a passionate musician as well and try to share my time and talent at my local church.
