Clinical Interests:
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor that has experience working with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues including, anxiety, depression, dual-diagnosis, low self-esteem, relational issues, mood disorders, personality disorders, anger, grief and loss, PTSD, as well as other trauma related issues and substance use related issues.
Clinical Approach:
I truly believe in treating the person and not just their symptoms. I use an integrative approach to therapy by blending different treatment modalities tailored to fit the specific needs of the individual. I have had training in Trauma Informed treatment practices and utilize Mindfulness Techniques, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I also feel strongly about meeting people where they are and empowering them on their journey to improving their emotional well-being so I also use a strength based approached in therapy.
Hobbies:
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends attending various sporting events or camping. I am also passionate about volunteering with the American Red Cross and have been a Disaster Mental Health volunteer for many years.
