More About Albert Atemkeng
Clinical Interests:
It takes a special type of person to be good at therapy. As a therapist my first rule of thumb is to establish a positive, and trusting rapport with my client, conducting a comprehensive Bio-Psycho-social and spiritual treatment plan with my clients, utilizing various theories, modalities, tools, and instruments at the same time develop a comprehensive goal plan that the individuals can utilized to improve their life in the community and to alleviate their mental health symptoms. I am interested in meeting with my clients regularly to develop a progress note, which provides a detailed record of each session in terms of clients’ progress, ensuring continuity of care, highlighting the client’s journey towards therapeutic goals and the effectiveness of interventions, adjusting treatment plans as necessary, and facilitating communication between providers.
I am capable of articulating and expressing myself clearly, and fast in picking up on my client’s body language, tone of voice, and other nonverbal cues to sense what’s going on with them. I can speak other languages including Pidgin, Russian, Dutch, but very fluent in both English and French which provide a leeway for me to focus on the culture, norms and values of my client and the influence of these factors on their well-being. These languages also help broaden my ability in enhancing communication, creating self-awareness, eliminating stereotypes and biases, and identifying the client’s cultural values. I am empathetic, non-judgmental, self-aware, ethical, kind, a great listener, flexible, capable of adjusting therapeutic interventions to fit the client’s needs.
I am interested in providing therapy to individuals who are willing to be honest about their thoughts, feelings, and experiences, individuals who show up on time prepared and ready to provide answers about whatever is in their mind and to say whatever they feel like saying without
