More About Aliyah Jerome
Clinical Interests:
I primarily treat children, adolescents, and young adults. My areas of interest include but are not limited to: mood disorders (anxiety, depression), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), adjustment disorders, behavioral disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), eating disorders, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PSTD), and childhood trauma.
Clinical Approach:
My clinical approach supports individuals in their journey by meeting them where they are, while encouraging them and guiding them to be the best version of themselves. I provide education regarding mental illnesses and medication. I believe that patient education empowers individuals and supports positive mental health outcomes. My clinical approach to treatment is also holistic. I believe the best patient outcomes result from a combination of many aspects including medication, therapy, and lifestyle changes (sleep, exercise, diet, and technology exposure). In addition to prescribing medication, I also provide non-pharmacological recommendations when indicated.
I consider the relationship between myself and my patients to be collaborative. I value each of my patients as an individual with their own unique story to tell. I make it a priority to listen to the requests and needs of my patients. My clinical approach acknowledges and respects individuals for who they are including but not limited to their race/ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religious or political preferences.
Hobbies:
In my off time, I enjoy spending my free time with family and friends. My interests/hobbies include: cooking/baking, board games, puzzles, listening to music, and crafting.
