Clinical Interests:
Andrea has experience with navigating the educational system and has worked closely with school staff to ensure that her client’s social, emotional, and academic needs are being met. Andrea has worked with all ages of children and adolescents, ranging from age 4 to 19.
Clinical Approach:
Andrea utilizes client centered and family systems approaches with children and families. She believes that children and families benefit the most when concerns are addressed from a family systems perspective, which looks at family functioning as a whole, instead of looking for quick fixes for concerning child behaviors. Additionally, she uses play therapy techniques, teaches mindful meditation techniques, and other expressive therapy techniques to promote client growth, expression, and emotion regulation.
Hobbies:
During her free time, Andrea enjoys walking or riding her bike in her neighborhood, working in her garden, and going to the Missouri Botanical Garden for inspiration; especially when the weather is nice. She is a lover of coffee and tea. She enjoys visiting the many local coffee and tea shops that are located in her neighborhood. Additionally, taking yoga or tap dance classes are her favorite ways to take care of herself and relive stress.
