More About Brooke Wenisch
Clinical Interests:
I have experience mainly working with young adults and adults however, I have an interest in starting to work with adolescents and teens as well. I also hope to get certified to be able to work with kids. I have experience working with those experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, anger/ aggression, addiction, stress, emotional dysregulation, transitions, low self esteem, grief/ loss and adjusting to overall change. Other clinical interests include: mixing my interest with psychology and sports. I enjoy helping athletes grow not only in their individual sport physically but also mentally.
Clinical Approach:
My approach to therapy is based on the individual I am serving. I utilize a patient centered approach. I have experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Art Therapy, Mindfulness/ Meditation, and a Humanistic Approach. I am familiar with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and hope to become fully certified in this area. I enjoy focusing on empowering individuals to manage their own health and well-being through a solution- focused approach. I have found using a blend of different techniques throughout the sessions work best.
Hobbies:
I love the summertime heat as I enjoy being active outside whether that is going on a Saturday morning walk with my mom, playing beach volleyball with my family, or reading a book at the beach or in the pool. I enjoy traveling, spending time on the boat, watching sports; especially the Minnesota Twins or the Minnesota Vikings, and playing bingo. I am also a volleyball coach throughout the year.
