More About Coreen Jander

Clinical Interests:

Relationship therapy, Dating and pre-marriage preventative skill building, Anxiety, Transition and adjustment, Parenting children with special needs, Grief and loss, Chronic pain, Work-Life balance, Forming connections and developing community, supporting those with a transient lifestyle due to work or family commitments, and Ministers and family members.

Clinical Approach:

My approach encompasses a client centered model blending techniques that best target the goals and needs of each client including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Gottman Relationship Therapy Approaches, and Faith-based Therapy.

I view counseling from a relational perspective, focusing on providing a validating and encouraging experience, to assist clients in living a purposeful life. I believe that an essential part of therapy is to identify resiliency within clients so they can journey forward with strength through life’s challenges. Having worked in the field of counseling, coupled with the experience of raising a child with special needs, I am well poised to relate to a wide variety of treatment needs for the individual as well as their family members. Much of my early work was in the field of relationship therapy for those transitioning to parenthood and I continue to enjoy supporting new parents that want to keep their partnership a priority.

Hobbies:

Anything in the fresh air and sunshine brings me joy! I appreciate hiking, gardening, cuddling with our pet bunny, time with friends and fellowship with my church community. My happiest days are those spent laughing and connecting with my husband and three children, now in their teens and early twenties.
