More About Jaclyn Droogsma
Clinical Interests:
I work with adult who are experiencing symptoms of substance use disorders in an intensive outpatient setting.
Clinical Approach:
I value a person-centered approach when working with individuals. Therefore, there are a few approaches I utilize depending on where an individual is at in there recovery, and what their goals for counseling are. I generally use motivational interviewing skills in order to assist individuals I work with to discover their internal motivations for change. I incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) skills, and I utilize strength-based approaches in order to move clients towards their recovery goals.
Hobbies:
I enjoy being outdoors, exploring new places, and spending time with my family. My hobbies include fishing, camping, reading, and hiking.
