More About Jennica Wanha

Clinical Interests:

I work with clients from a variety of mental health backgrounds, but most commonly with individuals presenting with anxiety, depression, or trauma symptoms. I have a passion for working with trauma and have attended various trainings to expand on my area of expertise. I have been trained in Prolonged Exposure Therapy for PTSD, Sandtray, and Narrative Exposure Therapy. I enjoy helping people reclaim their lives, and learn ways of managing their mental health well enough to achieve their goals. I want to help people grow, feel seen, heard, and understood. This is a safe place to process any emotional experience that may have never been shared before.

Clinical Approach:

I typically work from a cognitive-behavioral approach, while also teaching various dialectical behavior therapy skills. I believe mindfulness is something that every person can benefit from, as many of our mental health challenges are due to focusing on the past or future. I like giving people resources for outside of our sessions to use, so I often provide handouts for reference. I use various approaches to treat trauma, as every person is unique in their preferred method. I often review options, and clients can choose which approach they feel is the most fitting for them.

Hobbies:

I enjoy spending time with family (including my German Shepherd and tabby cat), spending time with friends, crafting, and reading.
