More About Jesse Johnson
Clinical Interests:
My clinical interests include working with adults whom experience depression, anxiety, guilt/shame, grief/loss, spiritual issues, self-esteem issues, adults whom have experienced abuse, and symptoms of post-traumatic stress. I also work with adolescents (i.e., 15 +) whom experience depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, adjustment difficulties, self harm, and conflict resolution issues.
Clinical Approach:
I thoroughly enjoy tailoring my clinical approach to best match the client's view of healing by using an Existential and Person-Centered treatment style in the endeavor toward wellness. I often utilize a blend of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing to help individuals experience change, and Dialectical-Behavior Therapy (DBT) and mindfulness-based approaches for healing formed on the basis of acceptance and skillful navigation through life challenges. I thoroughly enjoy collaborating equally in the development of meaningful therapy goals by also using strength-based and solution-focused counseling. For individuals whom appreciate the integration of Christian perspectives with evidence-based clinical practices, I also love to keep Christian spirituality alive within the counseling dialogue toward healing.
Hobbies:
I find joy spending time with God through prayer, reading, nature, silence, and fellowship. I love being with my family, enjoy music, movies, being outdoors (e.g., hiking, skateboarding, jogging, boating), art, and watching the sun rise with a cup of coffee.
