More About Jessica McLawhorn
Clinical Interests:
I have an interest in working with teens (16+) and individuals to develop ways to improve their current health and well-being by addressing the stressors that are impacting them. I believe in a collaborative and supportive approach that facilitates each client’s understanding and self-awareness as they move through the process of change. My clinical interests include: depression, anxiety, self-esteem, life transitions, adjustment disorders.
Clinical Approach:
My approach to therapy begins with recognizing that each client has a unique story. As we get to know each other I work to understand each client’s story and tailor my approach to best meet their needs. I work to help client’s identify goals, strengths, and provide support and guidance throughout the process of change. I use a blend of person centered, CBT, motivational interviewing, and strengths based practices.
Hobbies:
In my free time, I enjoy spending time family and friends, traveling, cooking, gardening, and spending time outdoors.
