More About Katie Kocian
Clinical Interests:
My passion lies in supporting individuals ages five and up as they navigate various life experiences. I have worked with a variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, anger management, and behavioral challenges. I also help clients develop communication and life skills, adjust to major life transitions, and process grief and loss.
Clinical Approach:
My goal as a therapist is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered. I often gravitate towards a person-centered approach, meaning I believe in meeting clients where they are and tailoring therapy to their unique needs. I also incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients develop a deeper understanding of the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Through this approach, I work collaboratively with clients to challenge unhelpful thought patterns, build effective coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change. My top priority is fostering a compassionate and trusting therapeutic relationship where clients feel supported in their journey toward healing and personal growth.
Hobbies:
I spend much of my free time engaging in various forms of art, including crocheting, painting, drawing, or playing the piano. I also appreciate having a healthy balance in life – whether that means spending time outdoors with friends and being social, or enjoying a quiet evening at home with my cats watching movies and playing video games.
