More About Katie Southwick

Clinical Interests:

Katie has had the opportunity to work in various schools and hospitals, with a background in social-emotional learning program implementation and development.

She enjoys working with clients from early childhood to young adults in areas of life transitions, academic improvement, self-exploration, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, spirituality, critical thinking skills and LGBTQIA+ youth experiences.

Clinical Approach:

Katie’s clinical approach includes a range of modalities including dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance commitment therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy. She emphasizes on mind-body connectedness for healing by utilizing mindfulness-based stress reduction, somatic experiencing and relaxation-based techniques.

When she is not in the office, you can typically find Katie at a rock-climbing gym, practicing meditation, listening to the Red-Hot Chili Peppers, and spending time with her loved ones. As a world traveler, in the summertime, you can find her anywhere that involves tropical weather, a campsite and a different language to learn. Katie recently adopted a blue heeler named Stella and looks forward to being greeted at the door with the “stella shuffle”.
