More About Kelsey Yeats

Clinical Interests:

Special Populations: Military, Veterans, Women’s issues, Perinatal; Ages: 13-55; Issues/concerns: Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, life transitions, postpartum adjustments

Clinical Approach:

My approach is a person-centered, client-driven approach to focus on the clients concerns and address them in a way that is helpful to them to be able to get them feeling confident and satisfied with life. A diagnosis is a label like how one would explain their relationship to another person, it is not a definition and it should never feel like a crime or punishment. People are never broken they just need assistance learning to live or operate differently than how others think they should be living. I have experience with teens involved in the criminal justice system, substance use clients, and clients with severe and persistent mental health diagnoses. I also have training in trauma care, trauma-focused hypnosis, anger management, military counseling, cognitive behavioral therapy for adults and teens, holistic approaches to pain management, and perinatal mental health. No two people are the same and so my methods of approach also differ from person to person.

Kelsey offers Animal-Assisted Therapy with her certified therapy dog Max.

Hobbies:

I enjoy spending time with my family, gardening, and crafting. Creating something and being able to sit back look at it and know I have brought an idea to life is exciting to me. I also enjoy learning, I have been called a “chronic college student” as I seek out and truly enjoy reading research and attending trainings. There is always something to learn from everyone you meet!
