Clinical Interests:
I am interested in working with patients who struggle with anxiety, depression, attachment disorders, adjustment disorders, and anger management among other mental health disorders. I am able to work with both adults and children of all ages, but my clinical focus is geared more toward children at this time.
Clinical Approach:
I like to work with clients using a combination of multiple therapeutic approaches. My most commonly used approaches include motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, modeling, and role-plays. I believe the best results come from a trusting relationship between the therapist and client, so I also like to ensure that each client feels as comfortable as possible when they walk into my office.
Hobbies:
When I am not at work you can usually find me on a volleyball court somewhere. I play in leagues across the Des Moines area and coach a competitive traveling team for Ohana Volleyball Club in Grimes. I also like to try new restaurants with my husband or go on walks with my boston terrier, Jax!
