More About Madelynn Husman

Clinical Interests:

I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice at Winona State University and a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Alcohol & Drug Counseling at Winona State University Graduate Studies. My clinical interests include co-occurring disorders, PTSD and trauma, self-esteem concerns, individuals involved with the criminal justice system, relationship conflicts, life transitions, and improving communication skills.

Clinical Approach:

I enjoy creating a safe, nonjudgmental environment for individuals to openly process mental health concerns to develop appropriate skills to manage these concerns. I have a more direct therapeutic approach by emphasizing the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing to reframe and challenge negative thoughts or interpretations while understanding the impact they have on behaviors.

Hobbies:

I enjoy being outdoors with cross country road trips, camping, hiking, and swimming but I also enjoy relaxing at home with my 2 rescue dogs (Daisy & Millie), listening to podcasts, learning new hobbies/crafts, and trying new recipes.
