More About Madi Mixdorf
Clinical Interests:
I work with clients ages 10-30 experiencing adolescent issues, adjustment disorders, anxiety, borderline personality disorder, college aged/student issues, depression, self esteem issues, self-harm, stress management, and suicidal idealization.
Clinical Approach:
There are a few approaches that I'll take with clients depending on their specific needs. I am most experienced in working with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and am comfortable teaching the DBT skills, which include distress tolerance, mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotion regulation. I also will use a combination of solution focused therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Hobbies:
I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I also enjoy traveling and have a personal goal of making it to all 7 continents, well maybe not Antarctica. I also enjoy reading (mostly Harry Potter) and love animals.
