More About Marketa Claiborn
Clinical Interests:
I enjoy delivering comprehensive mental health care across all stages of life. I am passionate about normalizing and supporting mental health care as the topic of mental health has been taboo for many generations and cultures. As a person and clinician of color, it is my responsibility to promote culturally competent mental health care and well-being. My commitment lies in ongoing self-awareness, resilience, and empowerment that will promote overall well-being.
Clinical Approach:
I count it as an honor to be invited to collaborate with clients as they navigate through challenging times. My commitment to create and provide safe, judgment-free spaces where clients can feel heard, supported, valued, and empowered is my top priority. My clinical approach encompasses a range of core values and qualities, which include empathy, compassion, cultural humility, and respect for all. In addition, I use a person-centered, strengths-based approach that often includes CBT and OARS techniques to promote client resiliency and empowerment as we journey through the therapeutic world together.
Hobbies:
I love spending time with and talking to family and loved ones and I value my self-care time. I enjoy moments to relax, reflect, and unwind through daily prayer, Bible devotions, bubble baths, and relaxing gospel music / inspirational messages. In addition, I enjoy trying new recipes and watching Lifetime / LMN movies. It is my goal to travel more and continue to celebrate life as much as possible.
