More About Miranda (Mandy) Byram

Clinical Interests:

While I have experience working with persons aged 3 and up, the majority of my clinical experience has been in working with individuals aged 11 and up. Additionally, I enjoy working with families and couples with a wide range of presenting problems. I have over 13 years experience working with both perpetrators and victims of sexualized violence using a multidisciplinary team approach. I have worked extensively with individuals with a wide-range of presenting problems including, but not limited to, personality disorders, mood disorders, partner-relational problems, parent-child relational problems, trauma, severe and persistent mental illness, and addiction.

Clinical Approach:

My clinical approach is informed by my training in family systems and wanting to meet each client where they are at within the change process. I work toward a comprehensive understanding of each client's family and developmental history, as well as their strengths and needs, to help inform the treatment process. I want to foster a safe and comfortable therapeutic environment that allows for clients to share the intimate details of their stories with me, and one in which they feel heard and understood. I feel honored to be a part of each client's journey, and desire for each client to walk away from the therapy process feeling empowered and confident.

Hobbies:

I have an interest in overall well-being, and in addition to my mental health licensures I am a certified Health Coach and Group Fitness Instructor. When I have the time I have enjoyed teaching a variety of group fitness classes. I also enjoy running and have been known to run a few races for fun from time to time. I am a mom to three very busy and active kids, and enjoy watching them in all their activities and cheering them on. During my downtime I enjoy my cups of coffee, reading a good book, or watching my favorite sports teams compete (Yes, I'm a die hard Twins and Vikings fan, SKOL!).
