More About Nikolas Leaf
Clinical Interests:
I have a strong interest in working with couples (married or not), families, parents and children, or any other relational dynamic. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and adjustment disorders. I also have previous experiencing working in an intensive outpatient substance use disorder clinic, and am very comfortable in group settings. I work with a variety of demographics, and it’s important to me to be someone that anyone would feel comfortable seeing. |
Clinical Approach:
I have a strong focus on relationships and their dynamics. I have a strong belief in the power of the individual, as well as the therapeutic alliance between the client and provider. Empowerment is key! I incorporate ideas and skills for managing symptoms from a variety of approaches, including CBT, DBT, person-centered, reality/choice, existential, and Adlerian theory. I believe that all aspects of our lives are interconnected.
Hobbies:
I’m a big gamer! I love video games and table top games (one night werewolf and magic the gathering are some big ones for me!). I also love to write, read, go to concerts, and explore what life has to offer while entertaining my creative side.
