More About Olivia Maciej

Clinical Interests:

I am interested in working with older adolescents and adults who experience a variety of mental health symptoms. Most commonly, I work with individuals who have been diagnosed with: major depressive disorder (MDD), generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). I am also interested in those who are challenged with eating disorders and self-esteem concerns. I work with individuals of all backgrounds (i.e., race, religion, sexual identity, etc.).

Clinical Approach:

I utilize a variety of clinical skills that revolve around cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and a person-centered approach. I believe that clients are the experts of their own lives and deserve to be validated for their experiences as they work through their mental health concerns. Furthermore, by looking at how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors affect each other can provide useful insight when working with clients. I believe that having a strong client-provider relationship aids in the therapeutic relationship that increases the therapeutic outcome.

Hobbies:

I love spending time with my corgi, Harlow. I could talk about him all day if I was given the opportunity. I also love spending time with my family, boyfriend, and friends. I love to try out new, local coffee shops and restaurants but I also enjoy spending time at home relaxing with no plans for the day. If I’m out of the house and I’m not at work, I’m on the weekly (or multi-weekly) Target run aimlessly browsing the aisles for far too long.
